Powers up, screen broken I think, Not sure how its happened.

 

This gas fire remote arrived safely and on testing the display was flashing randomly and had missing parts of the characters.

A replacement display was fitted for testing purposes and it was found that the display itself was actually the fault.  The replacement display was supplied and full functionality was restored.
