Buttons not working and very worn

 

This brake tester control arrived safely and on initial inspection the IR cover was missing along with the battery cover and many of the buttons.

On testing the control remained dead.

This was found to be due to a couple of issues, the first being that the red led was shorted, a replacement green led was fitted.  The button pads were also worn down.  This was remedied by recoating the pads.

The battery terminals were also insulated from shorting with each other.
