Customer's Fault Description
No response from receiver although remote seems to be working. The receiver 'eye' looks to be damaged

 

This fireplace controller and its corresponding receiver arrived safely and on inspection the receiver had a badly corroded battery block (due to a previous battery leak) and also the ultrasonic transducer was physically damaged.

Both were replaced which restored full functionality.
