no power at all to remote

 

Thisa Yamaha control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed dead, appart from a double flash from the red LED when batteries are added.

On opening there was a mass of contamination over part of the PCB nead the selector dial (see image).  This was cleaned up and there was some corrosion in parts of the trace as a result of the contamination.

The print was reworked but sadly the dead issue remained.  If was concluded that the  issue was with the main IC which sadly is not available as a spare, this has deemed a repair not possible.

I have had a look online and have found a control that is said to be compatible, this can be found here
