These two remotes arrived safely and on testing both were dead.

 On opening both were contaminated with a liquid contaminant, this was cleaned up which restored one remote fully.  The other was then found to have faulty buttons, this was due to corrosion in the print near the IC, this was reworked which restored full functionality.
