Remote doesn't work with any of the buttons

This Jukebox controller arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was held on with tape, this cant be replaced as spare covers are not available.

On testing the remote was confirmed to be dead.  This was due to a faulty oscillator, this was replaced which restored full functionality.
