Customers Fault Description : Spring at one end of the remote battery compartment has corroded and fallen out, meaning that the batteries have no 'connection' when inserted.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This velux remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to have a badly corroded battery terminal and was subsequently dead.
A replacement battery terminal was fitted which restored full functionality.
