Customer's Fault Description
The remote has stopped working following an apple juice being spilt on it. It was quickly wiped off and the batteries were taken out. The remote infrared sensor isn't sending any signals.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Yamaha AV system controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed dead.
One of the battery terminals was contaminated (see image) this was cleaned up but the dead issue remained.
On opening there was a mass of liquid under the battery compartment that was shorting various parts of the board. The board was given an alcohol bath which restored full functionality.
