Bose RC18T1-40 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : suddenly went dead, no buttons working. Tried to change batteries, still dead. No prior warning of any faults or any buttons going wrong. Just the whole thing at once.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Bose controller arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting but when tapped would stop working temporarily.
The battery terminals were found to have a mass of contamination (most likely from a battery leakage) see image!
A replacement battery terminals was fitted and solid functionality was restored. The customer is to test the control out full upon receipt.
