Customers Fault Description : Remote stopped working; changed batteries; remote became very warm and doesn't work

This fireplace controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed no to be responding from any button.
On opening there was a mass of contamination over the button array. This was cleaned up and new conductive pads glued into place which restored full functionality.
