Customers Fault Description : when I opened the back of the remote control. I can clearly see that the black cable is broken or detached from the battery cable.
This needs replacing or soldering it back.

This fireplace control arrived safely and on inspection was confirmed to have a faulty battery cable. A replacement cable was fitted which restored full functionality.
