New batteries were put in the remote, now fails to power up. Flashes now and again, think its a common fault.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on testing the display would illuminate but no characters would be present then the display would intermittently stop illuminating.

THis was found to be due to the ribbon cable to the display which had "crept" our of its socket.  The cable was re-seated correctly which restored full functionality.
