MAHA Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : MAHA

Customers Fault Description : diplay inop and not sending a signal to tester

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This IW2 PROFI roller brake tester remote arrived safely and on inspection a shattered SMD component was taped to the screen and also one of the buttons was missing.

On testing the remote would beep and no infra red signal was being emitted.  Also no signs of life was found from the screen.

A replacement for the blown SMD was fitted and also the button pads cleaned up due to contamination being present (see image) and also the missing button fitted, this restored an infra red signal but still no screen was being displayed.

After talking with the customer the screen was found to possibly not be needed as it was apparently faulty before the SMD blowing.  The customer is requested to test the control on return.
