The remote control is no longer operational

This Air con control arrived and on inspection the battery cover was missing (this cannot be replaced due to lack of spares)

On adding batteries the remote was found to be dead.  This was found to be due to corrosion on the battery terminals from a battery leakage.  The terminals were etched back and re-plated.  This restored full functionality.
