Mertik maxitrol G30 ZRRS Remote Repair Details

Model : G30 ZRRS

Customers Fault Description : The remote seems to be working,but not sure,but receiver blinks occasionally and only moves flame knob a tiny bit,no ignition.
Last year it did the same,but I looked at the batteries and a couple corroded (Duracell),so I cleaned and put a new block in.Worked fine,then stopped again,more corrosion,so changed again,but this time still nothing,only blink when batteries are put in and initial press of left and up button simultaneously.

This fireplace control and receiver arrived safely and on inspection the main cable was broken (the plug was present but the lead was missing.

The battery block was faulty as it had signs of a battery leak and also part had been attempted to be repaired.  A new battery block was replaced which restored full functionality.

A new lead was supplied (normally this is an extra charge due to the cost of the lead and it is not part of the receiver fault but as we had a spare one it was supplied, whenever removing the cable in future it is advised to pull the plug and not the lead as it will break)
