The remote hardly ever works. The fire has just been serviced and I’ve replaced the batteries in the remote.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This fireplace control arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead.

 On opening the remote a mass of corrosion was found around the main IC (see image).  The print was reworked and the IR led replaced which restored full functionality.
