Gazco 8490 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : The remote hardly ever works. The fire has just been serviced and I’ve replaced the batteries in the remote.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This fireplace control arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead.
On opening the remote a mass of corrosion was found around the main IC (see image). The print was reworked and the IR led replaced which restored full functionality.
