Arcam Repair

This has been stored for some time but was working with an Arcam Alpha 10 DAB tuner (which works fine still!). However, now the remote makes no contact with the tuner at all and the tuner appears not to recognise it. Have loaded fresh batteries (it was stored empty) but still no joy. I would obviously send it to you securely packaged but with or without batteries?

Looks to me like the IR LED is not transmitting (when viewing via my phone's camera). The battery contacts look clean and the buttons are not physically damaged. But, when pressing any of the 4 buttons. nothing appears to happen...
