The unit fails to operate across the full range of requirements. Occasionally, it fails to raise or lower the flame. Or, it refuses to switch off the flame. The battery is new, but shows a reduced content in the screen icon. It easily unpairs itself with the receiving unit within the fire. According to your colleague, Martin Smith, it may be something to do with a voltage reduction requirement that has failed within the unit, but obviously that was his conclusion after our conversation without examination of the remote.

Electric Fire Repair
The remote has three buttons. The red button switches on the light on the fire and works fine. Button 2 is for low heat and button 3 is for high heat. Neither button 1 or 2 works. I have tried in vain to open the unit so hope you have more success.
