I can't turn the fire on, the red light doesn't go on when you press the two on/off buttons together which is what you need to do to activate the fire. Strangely the two flame buttons get a red light but the on/off buttons don't.

The black wire had come loose, after fitting the wire back on a new battery was installed the remote control lights did not light up when doing a test I therefore do not know if it is working at all. I have ordered a new battery (2LSH20 7.2v 13Ah Lithium) for the gas fire which should arrive in about 5 days
