Remote handset seems to work OK (red light comes on for both up and down) - have also replaced brand new battery. Receiver box doesn't light up red when trying to transmit. Have replaced all batteries correctly but no improvement. Red light did flash briefly when inserting new batteries. Only thing I can think of is we dropped the remote handset onto a hard floor few days ago and this perhaps affected it?

the black casing around the wiring from the chair to the remote has perished showing the wires (which seem to be ok). The remote has the same button for the back recliner as well as the foot lift. it is the foot lift that is not working, the back is working fine, as is the lifting of the whole chair.
